ESSENTIAL TIMBER XL | Reform while preserving the essence
An essential requirement when starting the renovation of this apartment in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona was to preserve the original essence of the dwelling and maintain the authenticity of the space. Likewise, the aim was to update it and adapt it to the new tenants and their needs.
High ceilings, wooden beams, and tiled floors. The renovation has preserved characteristic elements of the old dwelling, seeking a more open layout with fewer divisions between rooms.
To divide spaces in a versatile way, the architects from AAGF Arquitectura installed an Essential XL Timber sliding door to close off the kitchen, a space located just in front of the entrance door to the apartment. With a large solid wood panel, it hides an area that is desired to be concealed upon entering the apartment.
Moreover, the SF-P140 system features a SofTop damping brake for smooth and impact-free closing and opening, which can be installed on leaves up to 140 kg. This element provides security to users as well as convenience when opening and closing a large-format leaf.
The components of Essential XL Timber are designed to carefully preserve the visual appearance of the installation, with details that make it a unique element, such as the possibility of installation in RA, allowing minimal distance between the panel and the track.

Additionally, another feature that makes SF-P140 a unique system is the Support FT XL profile, which allows for false ceiling mounting in a comfortable and much faster way. This profile mode consists of a guide that accommodates the Star XL profile, which not only allows for phased installation but also enables access to the hardware whenever necessary for disassembly and component updates.
